Good to see you back all willing to carry on and well done with regards to your results.
Great to see you want to improve grades too and that Manveer, Attiya and Ngone have got Media placements with KicFM radio this year. Thanks to Stefan for his help with National Film Club Summer School too. This year it gets harder!
We start with a skills audit of technical skills and theoretical knowledge because you need to be able to review critically your media work over the 2 years under pressure in the exam, as well as learn our 2 topics, We Media and Media and Collective Identity. Don't forget that everything is interrelated and if you can read widely in the Media , you will do well. The conference organised in February will be invaluable to help you make synoptic links . Read the material given thoroughly and learn the case studies, as well as read widely. Look forward to yo doing well!

Well this year seems to have kicked of with a bang. Helping out the odd week during the holiday and now KicFm seems to have been the good bits so far! The collective identity topic we are currently doing seems a bit mental hope it starts to get easier as we start to learn more how ever with We media and democracy I'm finding it rather good specially with the UMV's. good stuff (Y)

ReplyDeleteI am finding Media Studies much more interesting this year and I am enjoying the lessons. It is clear that the Teachers are doing their best with us.
Ms Lynch is teaching We Media and Democracy really well and I am enjoying her lessons more because they are more fun in terms in the topic being easier to understand. I really enjoyed the last few lessons watching videos on YouTube and evaulatiing them by apply them to certain questions or discussing them in class.
Mrs Leary is also doing very well in teaching us with her topic; Collective Identity but admittingly it is more of a challenge compared to We Media and Democracy. And sometimes the lectures and reading can be boring but it is all about understanding it and passing the exam.
Revision is going really well, I am referring back to the old material from last year and reading through it all. I am happy that most of the work is all coming back to me and Im starting to remember it again.
I aim to get such good grades in all the exams and beat Stefan Ram ;D
Well Media studies this years is pretty interesting with the collective identity and we media so thats all good. Also Kicfm is a blast i love going there every tuesday with Ngoni & Attiya and chilling with Kenny and the other dude (i keep forgetting his name).

Today we have started our A2 coursework today and we have decided to do brief two which is a promotion for a film which will include a trailer, a webpage and a poster. The film is a Rom Com about a love triangle (one guy and two girls) but it wont be a standard they find out and he chooses one and they live happily ever after. Yes people it has a twist that may surprise some. That's all for now so bye bye i guess

Manny, Stef and Ngoni, I have some stuff on Teaching Trailers from the BFI-ask for it on Thursday. Kic is great fun, isn't it? I hope you all can continue with it-who knows where it may lead?Where's some comments from the rest of you? I need to see them when you begin that coursework!

Hello, folks. I haven't seen any chat from Vik, Parm, Sunil,Jasmine, Nichola, Danielle as regards which task you have chosen and where you are in terms of researching your main task.
